UMD Researchers Recognized in Research.com’s 2022 Top Scientists and Top Universities Rankings
The University of Maryland (UMD) and its faculty scholars were recognized among Research.com's 2022 rankings of Top Scientists and Top Universities. Over 400 UMD-affiliated researchers were included among the Top Scientists in the nation and the world across Research.com’s 24 academic discipline categories, and UMD was listed among the Top Universities in the U.S. and globally in every category.

Sports Stadiums Could Change the Game for Future Elections, GVPT Researcher Finds
According to new research conducted by Department of Government and Politics Professor and Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement (CDCE) Research Director Mike Hanmer—along with colleagues at four other universities in partnership with the Civic Responsibility Project (CRP)—Americans support sports stadiums becoming another place where individuals can go to cast their vote; a change introduced in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
