Science, discovery and innovation were most definitely the themes at the first Israel-based meeting of the U.S.-Israel Energy Center's battery storage consortium at Bar-Ilan University's Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials this week.

Associate Professor Michele Lamprakos, an architect and historian specializing in the architecture, heritage and urbanism of the Arab-Islamic world, has earned a 2023 fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities to forward her second book, Memento Mauri: The Afterlife of the Great Mosque of Cordoba (forthcoming, University of Texas Press).

As space missions expand farther into the outer solar system and the hunt for extraterrestrial life and habitable planets and moons accelerates, the need for more compact, resource-conserving and accurate analytical tools is increasingly critical.
