International Research Collaborations

In order to address the complex grand challenges of our time, the University of Maryland recognizes the need to forge robust international partnerships that extend our reach and enhance our contributions to global knowledge and solutions. By advancing these collaborations with key partner institutions and organizations across global networks, the University of Maryland's research in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, climate change, biodiversity, education, and food security, will achieve a broader societal impact. The Division of Research works closely with colleagues in the Office of International Affairs to build international partnerships to achieve global impact. 

Universitas 21:

The University of Maryland is a member of Universitas 21 (U21), a network of 30 research universities around the world. Defined as the leading global network of research universities for the 21st century, U21 develops, facilitates, and encourages global connections and programming for Researcher Engagement, Student Experiences, and Collaborations.
