Mapping a Path to Food Equity in Prince George’s County
Although Maryland is one of the wealthiest states in the country, there are people in the state that experience food insecurity everyday. In Prince George’s county, where UMD is located, approximately 14% of the population is considered food insecure, 12.5% have diabetes, and 71.2% are obese or overweight.
Three Science Terps Named 2022 Goldwater Scholars
Three University of Maryland undergraduates with strong records of published research have been awarded 2022 scholarships by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, which encourages students to pursue advanced study and research careers in the sciences, engineering and mathematics.
