This October, the University of Maryland (UMD) is recognizing the incredible innovations fostered by artificial intelligence (AI). As part of this celebration, UMD welcomed media and guests to join researchers from across campus who are leveraging AI for real-world impact—from underwater drones for oyster farming to robotic dogs for mass casualty response, voice bots breaking down barriers to food access, and AI-powered communication for stroke survivors. 

The University of Maryland’s Associate Vice President for Research Denise Clark has been recognized by the Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) with the prestigious Campus Leaders Who Care Award.
