    When the words “artificial intelligence” (AI) come to mind, your first thoughts may be supercomputers, or robots that perform tasks without assistance from humans. Now, a multi-institutional team led by researchers from the University of Maryland (UMD) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) working with collaborators at Stanford University, University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania, and Duke University have accomplished something not too far off.

Developed by the Export Control and International Compliance Committee (ECIC), the objective of the webinar was to provide a snapshot of the national landscape, share guidance on reducing risks, and explain what the campus is doing to help.

  • Rural Areas Face Greater Challenges Adapting to Telehealth, New Research Finds

    Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, people have accessed health care appointments and services in a virtual format more than ever before. A new study by the University of Maryland School of Public Health found that hospitals in rural areas faced more barriers in adopting these telehealth approaches than those in urban areas.
