Michelle Smith

Michelle is a Certified Clinical Research Professional with nearly 20 years of varied experience in the academic research environment. After 15 years working in a variety of basic and clinical laboratory settings focused on the brain sciences at Johns Hopkins University, she transitioned to research administration at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2016. Most recently based in the department of neurology, she has worked with diverse teams of investigators to obtain funding for complex projects from federal, foundation, philanthropic, and commercial funding sources. As PDM, Michelle is responsible for facilitating and supporting the development of complex, visible, and signature research proposals campus-wide, from ideation to submission.
