BSOS Executive Director of Research Management Rebecca Hunsaker and Beth Brittan-Powell, director of UMD’s Conflict of Interest Office led an international workshop in August. The workshop focused on providing best practices for helping international organizations navigate projects with the National Institutes of Health.
Hunsaker and Brittan-Powell provided insight and best practices for a group of 15 professionals, including attendees from Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Sweden, Kenya and Colombia.
“Beth and I strongly believe that international research collaborations are beneficial and necessary for global public health,” Hunsaker said. “We love opportunities like this workshop since they help us form better networks of research administrators and lay the groundwork for streamlining administrative processes that support those research collaborations.”
The workshop was in collaboration with the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) Region 8, the international region, and followed the NCURA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
The BSOS community congratulates Hunsaker, Brittan-Powell, and the many other UMD staff members who provide leadership and demonstrate excellence in their fields.
