Samantha (Sam) Martocci

IRB Specialist - Education and Improvement

Samantha (Sam) Martocci joined the Human Research Protection Office in January 2022. In her current role as IRB Specialist - Education and Improvement, she is responsible for managing education needs within the HRPO and in the university community. These responsibilities include assisting with community outreach, keeping IRB resources and policies up-to-date, and developing internal and external quality improvement tools. Sam also manages the IRB Liaison Program. 

Sam received a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology in 2024 and B.S. in Behavioral and Community Health in 2019, both from the University of Maryland, College Park. Sam is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP). Prior to joining the IRB Office, she worked at NORC at the University of Chicago on a variety of projects related to COVID-19 contact tracing, survey development for a non-profit cancer organization, and patient/participant-driven research.
