Grand Challenges 2.0 Institutional Grants support new institutional initiatives that catalyze cross-disciplinary collaborations around a grand challenge focus or theme.
Announced in June 2026, Grand Challenges 2.0 Institutional Grants provide up to $1.5M total over 3 years of funding, plus a 50% internal college and/or department investing.
Impact Awards

Announced in June 2026, Grand Challenges 2.0 Impact Awards provide up to $1,050,000 total over 3 years, plus a 50% internal college and/or department investing.
Team Project Grants
Grand Challenges 2.0 Team Project Grants support projects advanced by research teams that are targeted toward a specific component of a grand challenge topic or theme.
Announced in June 2026, Grand Challenges 2.0 Team Project awards provide up to $600K total over 3 years, plus a 50% internal college and/or department investing.
