Gaelle Kolb joined the Division of Research in July 2017 as their Proposal Development Manager. She is responsible for facilitating and supporting the development of complex, visible, and signature research proposals. Before joining the Division, Gaelle supported the research enterprise in diverse capacities. Gaelle was the Grants Development Specialist in the Neuroscience And Cognitive Science program, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences where she provided support to faculty and students across multiple disciplines. Prior to coming to UMD, Gaelle was the Assistant Director and Interim Director of the Professional Development Office at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Gaelle has extensive experience working at the National Institutes of Health where she was the Scientific Training Specialist in the Office of Training and Diversity at NIAID advising postdocs on NIH Research Career Development Awards and European funding opportunities. Gaelle received her Master of Science in 2000, her doctorate in 2003 in Biology-Health from the University Victor Segalen in Bordeaux, France, and she held a postdoctoral position at the National Institutes of Health. In her research, Gaelle combined biophysics, the biology of pathogens and neuroscience.
