Tuesday, October 20 | 12-1pm EST

What is identity politics and why does diverse representation matter? We invite you to this timely event, featuring an esteemed panel of elected officials to discuss the importance of civic engagement and leadership, particularly within Black and Brown communities. Our panel, moderated by Dr. Jason Nichols, senior lecturer in the Department of African American Studies, will share issues that are important to communities of color, how they are addressing those issues for their constituents and what can be done at the state and national levels. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with and hear from legislators and discuss what advocacy looks like for people of color, particularly heading into the 2020 presidential election.

Panelists include:

Congressman Anthony G. Brown P'17, 4th District of Maryland, U.S. House or Representatives

Delegate Wanika Fisher '10, District 47B, Maryland State House of Delegates

Delegate Jazz Lewis '11, '14, District 24, Maryland State House of Delegates

Delegate Alonzo Washington '07, District 22, Maryland State House of Delegates
